I’m AHS ‘87 Classmates, 

I wanted to let you know that Denise Spangler(Marez-Perez) passed away on January 10, 2019 while in hospice. She had just turned 50 in November but had suffered from Lupus for several years and had not found much relief. As a devoted Catholic, may Denise now find peace. 

Denise is survived by her husband, Lee Spangler, JD, Vice President of Govenmental Relations for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, and two sons, Lee Jr and Patrick. The Spanglers have lived in Round Rock for many years. Both sons are in their 20s and live in the Austin area. Denise is also survived by her mother Nelda and a brother Victor, along with other extended family members. 

Denise was in AHS Red Jackets for a time and many of you may remember her from there. That is how I knew her and I would run into her occasionally around Austin over the years. She graduated from St. Edwards University in 1992. 

If I find an obituary or other information about her funeral services, I will pass those along to you all. I wasn’t very close to Denise more recently but thought our class should know of her passing.
